Robert MacKay, President and Founder

2000 – Present

Rob’s thirty plus years of experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering began as the lead Manufacturing Engineer for Water’s Manufacturing, a high tech electronic component manufacturing company. Rob was responsible for the sixty employee production facility. Duties included production floor layout, capital equipment procurement and maintenance, as well as design and fabrication of jigs, fixtures and test equipment to support several production lines of precision rotary potentiometers and linear motion transducers.

This was followed by thirteen years at Optelec, a leading company in the field of Low Vision Reading Systems for the Legally Blind. Rob started when the company consisted of five employees as the Mechanical Engineer focusing on the design and production of a new product line which fueled the rapid growth of the company in both sales and network distribution. Rob’s position as Operations Manager grew at the company grew. Expanded responsibilities included Materials Management Purchasing, Production, Quality Control, Shipping, and a worldwide network of Service and Repair. Rob founded Connexus in 2000 with his extensive experience in designing and building products and an entrepreneurial spirit.
